Elon Musk’s xAI has reached a major milestone as the sign that Grok is a significant contender in the generative AI scene was set in stone.
There is new data this week which reveals that traffic to the service has rocketed past 230 million monthly visits, with a consistent user base of 30 million MAUs (monthly active users).

New numbers show the AI chatbot is skyrocketing. According to traffic reports, Grok is up around 234.4 million visits in its latest monthly reading, with double digit percentage leaps from earlier periods.

That increased visibility then leads to user adoption. The platform has now reached 30.1 million monthly active users (MAUs), a number the firm says it has been able to maintain or grow as the tool gets built further into the X ecosystem.
These numbers are still far behind the industry behemoth ChatGPT, which clocks billions of visits, but Grok’s growth rate year over year has been explosive. By some measures, it has seen a traffic increase of at least 13,000 percent since its early days.

Who Is Using Grok?
Here is who the Grok user is. The viewership is overwhelmingly male, with about a 60 40 split in favour of males.
The US is the largest market regionally, generating slightly over 20 percent of traffic, followed by a large user base in India at around 10 percent.

The platform has surprisingly gained traction among tech savvy and academic users. A high percentage of the user base falls in the 25 to 34 age category, pointing to a good sized uptake by early stage professionals and scientists.
A $200 Billion Juggernaut
This usage data further justifies the current multi billion financial arms race over xAI. Thanks to a couple of hyper inflated funding rounds in late 2025, the company is now worth about $200 billion.
Part of this growth can be attributed to the advent of sophisticated models like Grok 3 and soon Grok 4.2, which have kept users engaged with truth seeking abilities and real time news integration that even some competitors find hard to match.

With the platform now processing millions of queries daily, xAI is well positioned to challenge the dominance of OpenAI and Google in 2026.
